About Our Auction Services

Iron Gate – Private Wine Management conducts charity, estate and sheriff seizure wine auctions on a frequent basis.

  • Charity Auctions: Registered charities are permitted to hold wine auctions where the product offered has been donated by collectors looking to support their cause. The donor receives a tax receipt for the full appraised value of the wine. Iron Gate is responsible for collection from the donor, inventory, photography, secure and temperature controlled storage, lotting and finally delivery to the successful bidder once the auction is complete.
  • Estate Auctions: Executors and administrators acting on behalf of an estate are legally authorized to hold a wine auction. Estates can include a deceased person, net family property (divorce), consumer proposals, bankruptcy or liquidation when leaving the country. Iron Gate assists in facilitation of the event by providing all the steps listed above plus we manage the entire auction and process the final payments. Most importantly, we have an extensive and growing database of collectors who we can contact to ensure there are bidders in the room on auction day.
  • Sheriff Seizures: Like an estate auction, Iron Gate can manage all the tasks necessary to conduct a successful sheriff auction of a private collection or restaurant cellar.

In this section potential bidders will have the ability to view photographs and details of the individual lots for some of our upcoming auctions. This will allow you to confidently bid knowing that the ullage and label condition are to your satisfaction beforehand.
